Škofja loka mountain biking

Welcome to the most preserved medieval city in Slovenia - Škofja Loka. In the past was well protected by the castle wall and you could access the city centre only over four bridges. Nowadays this overlooked city, located 20km away from Ljubljana, at the start of the pre-Alp region is calling for some biking stories to be written. 

Škofja Loka will be our starting and also an ending point. From the city we will take an easy gravel ascent on the old military road towards Ski resort Stari Vrh, continuing all the way up to the highest point of our biking tour - Blegoš (1562m) - it is a very popular destination for the local hikers and bikers, because of it's 360 degrees viewpoint over almost whole Slovenia. There you will have the time to try some true Slovenian mountain cuisine and also have a chat with the local people. After we will slowly start to descent and ride our bikes past many very small Slovenian mountain villages. In the middle of our descent, we will have a nice panoramic ride just underneath the Škofja Loka hills with the following descent back to our starting point.   

With our biking tour almost done, there is still the city waiting to be explored. We will take an easy ride to the castle, around the city centre, stop for some dessert and finish our day. This mountain biking tour can be adjusted to your biking level and skills. Škofa Loka hills are by many people proved to be one the best location for all biking level enthusiasts.
